Bottlenecks in Calais / Dunkirk|multimodal transport solutions

The worsening refugee situation in the French ferry ports of Calais and Dunkirk continues to cause backlogs and delays. Many hauliers are continuing to avoid sending their lorries to the UK and are instead travelling to other destinations. The result is a considerable shortage of loading space in direct transport. Our general aim is to utilise multimodal transport chains. We therefore work with our customers to determine the potential for shifting from driver-accompanied direct transport to multimodal transport. Multimodal transport is usually carried out using 45' containers and 13.6M. trailers using various modes of transport (road, rail, water).
