Eurotunnel: Obstructions due to maintenance work

The Eurotunnel under the English Channel, which was severely damaged by the fire of a freight train in one of the tubes on 11 September 2008, is not expected to be fully accessible again until mid-February. Construction is expected to take a total of four months and cost just under 60 million euros. Several people have been injured as a result of the fire. Rail traffic between France and the UK has been restricted ever since.
